So, What Happens Now?

This is a copy of a letter that I just sent to a good friend of mine who is a Fox-”News” watching gun enthusiast and staunch Drumpf supporter.

Your candidate won. Now I guess we'll see what happens when a pathologically lying, sociopathic pussy-grabber gets his hands on the nuclear football.

Let's talk about predictions and their veracity:

When President Obama took office you predicted the following:

You would have to surrender your guns to the government. - didn't happen.

President Obama would impose a communist dictatorship - didn't happen.

Black helicopters were going to drop down from the skies to apprehend lawful gun owners.- didn't happen.

President Obama would set up FEMA camps to incarcerate and "re-educate" his political rivals. - didn't happen

President Obama would manufacture some premise to stay in power past his constitutionally-limited term. - didn't happen   --- are you seeing a pattern here?

All of these "predictions" have been proven to be not only false, but patently ridiculous. Essentially, everything that you have predicted regarding President Obama has been proven wrong. Read that again. You're proven absolutely WRONG!

You have now officially earned the title Nostra-Dumbass, i.e., one whose predictions are systematically proven to be not only false but absurd.

So, what happens now that you and your ilk have put a serial liar and sexual predator in the most powerful position in the world? We'll just have to wait and see. In the meantime, here are MY predictions of what happens under a President Pussy-Grabber:

Now that Republicans have control of Congress and the Executive branch there will be new and more stringent restrictions on women's reproductive rights. Consequently, more women will die in childbirth or will die as a result of back-alley abortions since they will no longer have access to reproductive care. Since Republicans don't believe in birth control and insist that women only use their lady-parts for making more Republican babies, teen birth rates will go up.

Given his push to deny health care to individuals, following the repeal of the Affordable Care Act more people will become uninsured and, as a consequence, will die from lack of access to health care. Meanwhile medical costs will continue to rise since there's no incentive for either medical corporations or insurance conglomerates to reign in costs.

Corporate cronyism will run rampant and workers will be struggling with lower wages and longer hours to make ends meet. Meanwhile, organizations loyal to President Sociopath will have access to power to repress wages and to break union contracts. Working-class people will suffer an overwhelming loss of representation in government and, consequently, a decrease in working wages.

There will be more environmental disasters like the lead contamination in Flint, Michigan and more people killed from mining accidents and other fossil fuel industries. Environmental laws will be gutted leading to an overwhelming increase in CO2 emissions. Fossil fuel companies will report record earnings while the rate at which global warming continues will accelerate leading to a worldwide catastrophe.

Since police will view Trump's election as a pass to repress people of color the prison-industrial complex will reap boon times. Police shootings of unarmed black and hispanic people will rise. Race riots will grow larger and more violent.

There will be a war. This is something about which I hope against hope that I'm wrong, but I sincerely believe that President Sociopath could conceivably bring about a war that could escalate into a full-scale nuclear exchange between the U.S. and another nuclear power, possibly Russia. If that happens, I have sincere hopes that I am close enough to a primary targeting point that I will die by the initial blast or fireball of the first strike. The one thing that I fear beyond anything is the horror of dying from radiation poisoning. I may ask you for a gun to more humanely and quickly end my life before I have to live with the nightmare of the slow death of dying from the inside out. My training in the Navy's nuclear power program has educated me enough to know that dying from radiation sickness is one of the worst ways to die. I'd rather make it a quick death than the actual Walking Dead.

Freedom of the press will be curtailed by the threats of The Donald changing laws regarding libel. Since the press will be suppressed nobody will have any news that is critical of his presidency.

By the way, are you familiar with the definition of fascism?

I do hope that I'm wrong. Unfortunately, I made the prediction when Dumbya was elected that he would destroy the environment, the economy and the Supreme Court. I wished then that I wasn't prescient. Much to my dismay, history proved me right.

So, tell me: since I'm giving serious consideration of joining a suicide pact, why should I not think seriously about ending my life, since the America that I once knew and loved has been overtaken by uninformed, uneducated nihilists bent on turning the world's most powerful democracy into a reality TV show documenting the disintegration of the world's once most powerful force for good?

Well, again, I guess we'll find out what happens when the world's least qualified person ascends to the most powerful office in the world.

Thus far, denial has been the standard talking point for Republicans. Try to deny the shitstorm that's about to happen. I dare you.

Then again, I could be wrong... and I sincerely hope that I am. But, if I'm not, I know who to blame.
